Avocado Smoothie

A low carb smoothie that will leave you feeling satisfied

Whether you’re looking for a meal replacement or just a snack, this low carb avocado smoothie does the trick. Avocados are a rich source of vitamins, fatty acids, magnesium, potassium and a variety of other nutrients that are essential to our bodies, especially for those eating a low carb diet.

This smoothie is not overly sweet, so adjust the sweetness to your liking. You can also experiment with the thickness, I tend to like the creamy texture of a smoothie so I add the additional ice cubes to not only keep it really cold but also thick. If you don’t have flax meal on hand you can opt to leave it out but it is a great source of healthy fat and fiber.

If you are enjoying a post workout smoothie you could easily add protein powder or other supplements to this drink to get your fix. I like to add a little MCT oil powder after a workout. Use a sweetener of your choosing. To keep it #keto make sure it fits your macros. I prefer a granulated sweetener like Swerve but you could also use Truvia, Stevia, or any other erythritol blend you prefer.

Packed full of healthy fats and fiber, this smoothie will leave you feeling satisfied and is easy to modify, if needed.


1 cup unsweetened almond milk

1/2 medium or 1 small avocado

1/2 cup baby spinach leaves

1/2 cup frozen blueberries

5 ice cubes

1 tablespoon ground flax meal

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon heavy whipping cream

1 tablespoon sweetener

1 teaspoon vanilla


Add almond milk and avocado to a blender. Make sure to add these ingredients first to give your blender a liquid base to start with, this helps prevent the blades from getting stuck.

Add all remaining ingredients and blend well.

Pour smoothie in a glass and enjoy!

Serves one.
